Fayed Yousry is a visionary leader who is passionate about building systems that solve real-world problems. He is the Founder of the Digital Transformation Center (DTC), and is an adviser at Jadeite Ventures, which supports small businesses and communities to grow and thrive through accessible, practical, and effective technology.

A Career of Purpose

Fayed’s career journey is built on his professional career in engineering and defense technology, starting with a large global defense contractor. He eventually co-founded an integrated VAS delivery and loyalty platform for a major regional telecom provider. But it was during the pandemic when he had his most pivotal moment. The lockdown was disruptive to basic daily life across the globe. Fayed observed local retailers who were hanging on and struggling to survive during the lockdowns. Fayed launched an omnichannel retail initiative that tied together physical retail to e-commerce with delivery, helping dozens of businesses to stay connected and operational, and saving hundreds of jobs. That experience showed him the power of technology when used with intention and “for good.” This led to the founding of the Digital Transformation Center (DTC).

Scaling Empowerment Through Leadership

Fayed is now focused on enhancing his impact through the Digital Transformation Center (DTC), which helps individuals and small businesses develop core digital skills and select the most appropriate technology to drive their growth. At the same time, he is pursuing strategic consulting with Jadeite Ventures and its family of companies, helping clients understand the implications of digital transformation for their businesses and developing their business development strategies. His work is a fusion of strategic consulting as well as hands-on, integrated with an emphasis on linking vision to execution.

Fayed has taken the approach to leadership based on three tenets. The first is Pragmatic Impact; he believes that solutions need to be practical, tangible, and measurable. The second is Empowerment Through Knowledge leadership, is enables people to be equipped with the tools/skills and confidence to do things for themselves. Lastly, he wanted to define Resilient Adaptability; in a rapidly changing tech sector, you need to continually learn and be open about how to pivot. These three tenets not only inform his approach to leadership, but they also define the DTC’s mission.

Vision, Impact, and Collaboration

Fayed believes the future of digital transformation will be led by three trends: Democratization of AI, allowing small businesses to access powerful tools; a Skills-Based Economy, where digital certifications outweigh traditional degrees; and Hyper-Localization, where solutions are tailored to local needs, languages, and cultures. At the DTC, success is measured through the impact people trained, businesses transformed, and jobs created. Collaboration is central to this mission. By partnering with NGOs, schools, governments, and private sector players, the DTC brings together diverse forces to drive lasting, community-focused change.

Guiding the Next Generation

Fayed encourages young professionals to keep learning all the time because technology changes quickly. He says it’s important to understand the reason behind a problem before trying to solve it. Most importantly, he believes you should connect your work to something that matters to you. Having a clear purpose, he says, gives you the strength to keep going when things get tough.
