Selected for Pioneering Digital Transformation at Takeda
As the Head of Innovation and Digital Technologies for R&D Quality at Takeda, Nishtha oversees Innovation and digital technologies that drive efficiency, for a global R&D Quality function that spans the entire R&D pipeline, from initial drug discovery through phase four, including pharmacovigilance for clinical and commercial products and devices throughout their life cycles. A key initiative has been her advocacy for a “Problem First” approach—prioritizing comprehensive problem-solving before deploying technological solutions. This method has led to the development of several Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and AI-driven experiments aimed at addressing root issues within biopharma processes.
She also introduced an Innovation Board inspired by “Shark Tank,” where business users pitch projects to secure funding, ensuring robust problem identification and solution alignment. Additionally, Nishtha led “Digital LEAP IN,” a digital learning platform designed around awareness, application, and exploration, which has been instrumental in upskilling Takeda’s teams and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
