Career Journey at Tech Mahindra

Velmurugan’s professional journey started in 2017 as a technical project manager at Tech Mahindra, Singapore, where he honed his skills in project management, communication, and collaboration. In his role as a technical consultant, he got hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Oracle, AWS, and Azure. This exposure has broadened his knowledge in the areas of infrastructure, compute, storage, networking, security, and database management. Thirsty for knowledge, Vel got certified in ISC2, Oracle, AWS, Azure, and TOGAF, which empowered him to take on more challenging projects and design innovative solutions for complex requirements. His leadership capabilities were further solidified with contributions to both cloud and on-premise projects for private and public sectors, which eventually led him to become a lead technical architect. 

Responsibilities and Leadership Style

In his current role, he defines the technical vision and roadmap of the projects. His leadership style is based on fostering a culture of innovation, encouraging his team to think creatively, and embracing automation for efficiency and accuracy. He gives much importance to collaboration among teams and departments, breaking silos so that ideas can be interchanged. Staying ahead of emerging trends is central to his approach, and he himself attends industry events and share knowledge to bring valuable insights back to his team.
